Note: Does not fit: XVS1100 models, does not fit 73-76 TX650 models.Look at the last 2 photos, This is a TX650 gas cap gasket.   My gasket DOES NOT FIT THIS STYLE!

A customer also noted that on his 1976 XS650C, the cap was extremely tight,and much harder to close with the new gasket.  
YOU MUST APPLY DOWNWARD FORCE on the cap BEFORE you start turning the key!  Otherwise the key may bend or break...

These are no longer available from Yamaha,I have sourced them from FUJI, a reputable Japanese supplier.

OEM# 2MO-24641-00specs:approx 2 1/16" or 52mm acrossinside mounting groove is 3/16" or 5mm deep. this is a tight fit! there is a good amount of stretching needed to install these gaskets!

note on installation.you MUST remove the screws,(disassemble the gasket part of the cap.). in order to correctly install this gasket.NOTE:The lock needs to be removed too, then the whole thing folds open and on the back, there is a c clip holding that central cap piece and its spring in place

Back to the XS style gas cap gasket:

Fits many models- including, Yamaha XS1100 Standard and Special models,
XS650 specials, ...any XS / RD with a gas cap that has 3 screws
holding the gasket to the cap (flip yours open to check)
like:  early 1970 -75 Yamaha enduro's with the hinged, keyed cap

Fits: most 1976-84 XS650 gas caps.
does not fit 74-75 XS650 or TX650 with a TX style gasket

These are brand new, NOT 30 year old NOS,
laying on a shelf for 3 decades.
Get rid of your cracked leaky one,
or the cheap o-ring,
or toilet tank rubber you have on there now, (seriously-it's been done)...
and rebuild that cap correctly.

This tank cap gasket fits exactly the Yamaha 1978 XS750E.
It's tight but a little oil and the dull screwdriver blade on my Swiss Army knife made it easy.
This is the mystery part not shown on the parts diagram of the XS 750.
